FRISCO, Texas (September 2, 2023) – The Frisco RoughRiders delivered a strong pitching performance between Nick Krauth, Aidan Anderson and Danny Duffy, but the Corpus Christi Hooks 1-0 from Riders Field on Saturday.

Box Score

Krauth (4-10) delivered six strong innings for Frisco (29-27, 60-64) with one run allowed, becoming the fifth consecutive RoughRiders starter to go at least five innings. Krauth scattered seven hits with one walk but suffered a tough-luck loss. He did not strike any batters out but attacked the zone, at one point throwing 15 consecutive strikes in the second inning.

Krauth allowed back-to-back singles in the second and third innings but avoided damage each time, using three ground balls in the second inning and a double play in the third. Frisco stranded a runner at third base in the fourth inning by turning two again, the 111th double play of the season to lead the Texas League.

Anderson was the first Frisco reliever and tossed a 1-2-3 inning with a strikeout in the seventh. Duffy struck out four without a hit allowed in the final two innings.

The Hooks (28-28, 61-64) now lead the series 3-2, with all five games this week decided by one run.

Trevor Hauver notched his team-leading 24th double of the year, one of just two hits allowed by Hooks' starter Ryan Gusto (4-2). The right-hander earned the win by going five shutout innings. Ray Gaither closed out the game with a scoreless ninth to earn the save.

Brad Miller - continuing his MLB rehab assignment - and Kellen Strahm both drew two walks on Saturday.

The final game of the six-game series is at 6:05 p.m. on Sunday, Sept. 3rd at Riders Field. RHP Jack Leiter (2-5, 5.40) starts for Frisco and RHP Diosmerky Taveras (1-3, 5.11 ERA) for the Hooks.

In 2023, the team is celebrating its 20th anniversary and has consistently finished in the top five among all Double-A franchises in attendance yearly. In August 2014, the RoughRiders were purchased by an ownership group led by Chuck Greenberg.
